Job Title: Sales and Project Support Administrator

Conscientious, organised and methodical person required to join the Admin Team of a company at the forefront of Environmental Analysis.  Experience of Project Administration would be beneficial but not essential


To support the Sales and Project teams by providing effective organisation and administration support.  You will also be instrumental in ensuring all relevant project documentation is kept up to date and readily available

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide administration support to the Sales and Project Teams

  • Produce quotations and update the customer account database

  • Answer customer calls and queries received via the telephone or email

  • Ensure that tenders, quotes and bids are prepared and submitted in accordance with agreed procedures

  • Act as a go-to person for project leaders, attending meetings, setting up project filing systems, tracking and maintaining document status and ensuring completeness with compliance and quality requirements

  • Being a key part of the team offering general administration support across the business at all levels

  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements including visa applications and car hire as necessary

  • Submit expense claims

  • Maintain Intranet diary and literature resources

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and/or occasional seminars

  • Keep reception informed of expected external guests

  • Any other duties deemed by the management team to be in the interest of the team in achieving its objectives


  • Sales Support/ Project Administration experience

  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills

  • Proficient use of Outlook and MS Office applications

  • An eye for detail

  • Proven ability to communicate with staff and customers

  • Ability to deal with people in different roles and levels in-house and externally

  • A proactive approach to tackle problems and identify solutions

Job Title: Development of an Oxidized Hg Calibration System (12 month project)

Candidates should have experience in the development of scientific instrumentation and analytical measurements. This project is a part of EMPR Metrology Project (16ENV1 MercOx) to produce a SI traceable oxidized Hg calibrator for stack gas and ambient air monitoring systems.

Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Industrial Placement Student) 2019-2020

Responsible to: Quality Control Manager/Research and Technical Support Manager

Based at: P S Analytical, Orpington, UK

Job Purpose Summary: To perform quality control testing of PSA products and to assist with the analysis and preparation of samples, standards and chemical reagents.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform analytical performance testing on all PSA products.
2. Prepare chemical reagents, standards and samples for general laboratory use.
3. Communicate and document quality control issues on the component and manufacturing level to line manager, suggest and implement improvements.
4. Clean and prepare glassware for trace metal analysis.
5. Provide quality control testing records to monitor performance trends.
6. Provide technical support to all departments within PSA, distributors and customer cliental.
7. Assist in the maintenance of PSA equipment and maintain a clean area of work within the laboratory.
8. Analyse samples for potential sales and consultancy.
9. Demonstrate products and applications to assist sales department.
10. Document all scientific findings and produce in house and customer reports.
11. Provide training to PSA staff and its customers.
12. Attend laboratory, production and quality control meetings.
13. Attend training courses to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
14. Adhere to the Health and Safety Policies of PSA and customer site.
15. Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
